■ About The Album

It is considered the best punk music album in Korea, and four of the nine songs on the album are arranged classical songs such as Ave Maria and Fate Symphony. At the time of the album's production, Love and Peace was such a talented band that it was classified as Special AA, the highest grade on the U.S. Eighth Army stage, that singer Lee Jang-hee, known for "That's You" who looked at them, asked them to record together. Love and Peace members thought it was just a joke, but a year later, Lee Jang-hee really made a song and brought it.

The fact that a punk album appeared at this time is quite monumental in itself. Before love and peace, the genre of punk did not exist in Korea at all. There wasn't even a single song with a punk color. Love and Peace playing on the 8th Army stage was devastated one day when they heard an American punk song playing on a U.S. radio channel because it was a song of a color that they had never heard before in Korea and was playing mysterious colors. Rain turned on American radio every hour to listen to the song again. After waiting endlessly like that, I listened to and studied each song that flowed out, and after a considerable effort, I was able to reproduce the punk performance and sound.

The debut album of love and peace was produced in the summer of 1978 at Han River Studio in Ichon-dong, Seoul, on two channels simultaneously. The title song, which had been scarce for a while, was originally intended to be removed from the album by Choi Yi-chul, the leader of love and peace, but it could only be included in the album at the request of Lee Jang-hee, who composed the song. The album, which was released as such, topped the K-pop ranking program for three consecutive weeks, and some of the students at Gyeonggi Girls' High School liked their songs, especially to the extent that they chose love and peace. Love and Peace was recognized for its popularity by winning the TBC 7th Singer Award, MBC 10th Singer Award, Jung Chang-dan Award, and KBS 10th Singer Award for two consecutive years in 1978 and 1979. In particular, the title track, which was rare for a while, is considered one of the greatest hits of 1979.

It was re-released on CD in 2011 on old media. The signature written at the bottom of the album cover belongs to artist Lee Doo-sik, who also participated in Lee Seung-hee's first album produced by Lee Jang-hee the following year.
