‘한국 대중음악의 오래된 미래’라 일컬어지는 "눈뜨고코베인과 청년실업"의 멤버였던 장기하가 주축이 되어 결성한 락 밴드이다. 인디 아티스트 대중화의 선두에 섰던 그룹으로 7080 포크를 매칭시키는 보컬 장기하 특유의 툭툭 던지는듯한 창법과 랩, 그리고 우리말의 특색을 잘 살린 가사가 독창적이며 실력있는 밴드이다. 아래 그렇고 그런사이는 이러한 밴드의 특징이 잘 녹아있는 재밌고 유쾌한 노래이다.

■ About the Band

a retro band. During the peak of his activities, he did music that no one did at the same time in Korea. It was strongly influenced by Korean folk rock such as Sanwoolim, Gangsane, Talking Heads, and Roxy Music, as well as New York punk and New Wave. His excellent ensemble skills, contrasting with the flowing Jang Ki-ha's song, are reminiscent of David Byrne in Talking Heads. A huge fan of Talking Heads who is actually playing.

At first, it was a band that played songs made by Jang Ki-ha, but after Jongmin Lee and Yohei Hasegawa newly joined, all the members participated in the arrangement to make music of Jang Ki-ha and faces, not "Kang Ki-ha's own music." With the recruitment of Yohei Hasegawa and Jongmin Lee, the musical range of the second album is wider than that of the first album and has become quite rocked. Of course, the first album was written, composed, and edited by Jang Ki-ha, and his faces were the concept of a solo album, a "project band." From the second album, Jang Ki-ha wrote and composed, but the members participated in the arrangement, creating more "bandlike" results musically.
Jung Joong-yeop said, "In the case of the first album, I felt like a complete helper, but in the case of the second album, I felt like a band member because I could do more."
In addition, most of the songs in the first album were close to folk rock, but from the second and third albums, it was clearly revealed that they were aiming for psychedelic rock.
