■ About The DRAMA

As it is based on folk tales, it is naturally a fusion historical drama, and unlike folk tales, the male protagonist in the drama is Kim Seung-yu, not Kim Jong-seo's grandson.

At the beginning of the drama, the phrase "This drama was reconstructed by adding imagination to historical characters and events for dramatic fun" is included to announce that it is not an orthodox historical drama. According to the historical death anniversary, the story of the two children's birth cannot be established in itself because the son of Kim Jong-seo (born in 1383) is older than Prince Suyang (born in 1417). It is also shown in the outlineIt is almost the Joseon version of Romeo and Juliet. That's why the promotion was done.

Two screenwriters and two directors each work together, all rookies who debuted between 2005 and 2010. Most of them are one-act dramas, including drama city, drama special, and legendary hometowns. Writer Cho Jung-joo had experience in writing a 16-episode mini-series called Partner starring Kim Hyun-joo in 2009, but he is still co-written. However, perhaps that's why a challenging and fresh historical drama was born, which is different from the existing one.

The historical evidence of Uisang managed to fit official uniforms and official hats, but jeogori and black ribs were used from the late Joseon Dynasty. In particular, women's jeogori were close to modern modernized hanbok jeogori, as they were made by clearly showing stitch marks, attaching various decorations, or connecting pieces of fabric like sculptural beams. Princesses, including Princess Gyeonghye and Se-ryeong, wear a dragon-shaped robe like a queen in the palace. It is believed that the royal robe began to appear in earnest after the Japanese Invasion of Korea in the 15th century. In addition, even before King Yeongjo banned fake hair, women did not fake it and put a half-hearted headdress that seemed to be a mixture of Chupji and Bae's danggi on top of the danggi or jokjin head. And I think it's important to carry a ring in your hand...
The story of Yasa's eldest daughter is a record of Geumgye Pildam, a house of Yasa. In more detail, Princess Sehee, the eldest daughter of King Sejo, gets hated by her father after King Sejo kicked out her nephew and ascended the throne, and with her mother's help, she runs away from the palace. Princess Sehee wandered around and met a graceful woodcutter who seemed to be a commoner, and the man was Kim Jong-seo's grandson. The two formed a couple's relationship and lived in hiding while baking and selling charcoal. Later, King Sejo came to a nearby hot spring where they lived, and King Sejo met his grandchildren. Through his grandchildren, Sejo noticed that his daughter lived near here. Sejo, who was suffering from guilt, officially recognized Kim Jong-seo's grandson as his son-in-law and tried to reinstate the two. However, it is said that the princess and her husband, who found out that their father had come before him, ran away with their children, and eventually became unknown.

In terms of timing, it can be said to be a story that follows King Sejong, a deep-rooted tree, but it may not be very meaningful because it seems to be close to a trendy drama. In fact, the first episode and the episodes after Gye Yoo-jung Nan added the phrase "This drama is a fiction created by the author with imagination" before the drama began, specifying that it is a fusion historical drama, not an authentic one.

Some of the characters who were active at the time were excluded from the casting, for example, Kim Jong-seo and Yeongui Hwangbo, who tried to protect Danjong, and Yangnyeongdaegun, the head of the royal family, who encouraged King Sejo and eventually contributed greatly to the overthrow of the throne. Suddenly, Yangnyeong and Hyoryeong's half-brother Onnyeong-gun appear instead. Queen Jeongsoon, the queen of King Danjong, also does not appear. In addition, Hyebin Yang, a concubine of King Sejong, who was the nanny of King Danjong and Princess Gyeonghye and the only female guardian in the palace, does not appear.

It is considered a conceptual work among historical dramas made in 2011. The story is not bad, and the character description is quite excellent. Even though it is openly advocating a fusion historical drama, it is worth paying attention to the fact that the character is faithfully depicted in the real history rather than the so-called traditional historical drama. For example, the King Sejo of this work was depicted as a cold and cruel power closer to actual history than the King Sejo (Soyangdaegun) of the so-called orthodox historical drama "King and Rain." It looks better than before even in terms of high evidence. For example, the fact that the faction of the gunmen did not come out is typical. In particular, the description of Gyeyujeongnan as a means for power without glorification or excuses was highly praised. In fact, in addition to the Danjong sillok referenced by the previous historical dramas dealing with the Gyeyujeongnan, the existing Daeha sillok also accepted the records of the Joseon Dynasty without critical verification, and it seems that some glorification of the main character is included in the Daeha sillok.
In the beginning, it was pointed out that the characters of the male and female protagonists were not able to keep up with the supporting actors, including Su-yang. In fact, all but the main characters are real people in history, so it can't be helped. It can be said that the success or failure of the drama depends on how well the stories of the main characters who will fall into dramatic situations in the future.

As Gye Yoo-jung Nan has been dealt with since episode 7, the focus is gradually shifting to the story of the main character couple, and the drama is fine and the main character couples' acting has improved, and so far, it has been somewhat successful. In episode 14, which is referred to as a legend, tension and conflict between the main characters exploded, and the atmosphere was completely reversed, with articles of praise for the main actors' In particular, Se-ryeong's desperate emotional performance, which wrapped Kim Seung-yu's runaway with love and sacrifice, created a legendary episode with a lot of praise in the 14th inning with her messy hair and beauty that shone even in shabby clothes. It has also dominated the number one Wednesday-Thursday drama since the fourth episode, and the 14th episode is doing well, surpassing the national audience rating of 20% based on AGB Nielsen. Until the end of the show, it continued to maintain ratings of more than 20% based on AGB Nielsen, dominating the Wednesday-Thursday drama industry. However, it was regrettable that the movie "Protect the Boss" was not rated more than 30% because it was well received and received a lot of support from women.

It ended on October 6, 2011, and the ending ended similarly to the original source, Geumgye Pildam.
