On September 12, 1977, the first episode was held under the leadership of Munhwa Broadcasting, and Na Oh-do of the Sand Pebbles cut off the first-time championship. The main concept was the freshness and soundness of the campus, which contrasts with the established music industry, and it caused a great public response from the first stage, and since then, it has been an opportunity for numerous music festivals to flourish in earnest. However, despite the government's "soundness" at the time, the student movement at the time viewed the university song festival with a negative view because it encouraged commercialism or decadence.
