■About Epik High

Formed in 2001 and debuted in 2003, South Korea's tablo, Mitsura, and two-cut three-member alternative hip-hop group. Since their debut, they have maintained the trio without changing their members.

Officially, the meaning of Epik High is described as 'narrative high'. However, Epik (a variant of Epic) also means "giant" or "very" in addition to "narrative poetry," and High means (drug) in slang and giddy. In other words, it means "very drunk" and actually used this expression in the lyrics, but Epik High is said to have written literary lyrics since his debut, so it would be fair to say that he borrowed the two meanings.

In 2004, the second album High Society, in which the members participated in the production themselves, was released, and Tablo began to make his name known by performing entertainment activities in earnest from the end of his second album. He has been active in programs such as "Ambitious," "Imagination Plus," and "Find X-Men," and later appeared on Nonstop 5, the cradle of youth stars. Based on this popularity, the title song "Fly" of the third album Swan Songs released in 2005 topped the music program, beating TVXQ.

After that, he became a popular singer. The fourth album "Remapping The Human Soul" released in 2007 is a two-CD format, selling more than 100,000 copies despite the slump in the music market with title song "Fan" and follow-up song "Love Love." In addition, MKMF won the Grand Prize for Album of the Year, which was an amazing achievement considering what 2007 was like. In addition to its popularity, it also received considerable critical support, making it one of the best albums in Epik High. When we talk about hip-hop albums of the 2000s, we don't talk about this album except for its outstanding popularity and musical symbolism.

The fifth album, "Piece, Part One," released in 2008, was not as influential as before, but was consistently nominated for first place with prominent singers for its title song "One." In addition, the album contains a masterpiece umbrella called "Umbrella Pension," which is played every rainy day, and also entered the music site chart again when the rainy season continued. After 6 months since the 5th album, they released a collection of props, Lovescream, and this album was also successful to some extent. The title song, "One Minute One Second", is the most lyrical of Epik High's title song.
