2024 Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival
The "2024 Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival" hosted by Incheon Metropolitan City (Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok) will be held from August 2-4.
Marking its 19th anniversary this year, Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival is Korea's leading global music festival where you can meet large musicians from home and abroad. It has been designated as a Global Festival Support Project and 2024-2025 Culture and Tourism Festival by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and is growing as a major Asian music festival.
Tickets for blinds, early birds, and enthusiasts sold out earlier, and fans at home and abroad have been attracting attention even before the release of the third lineup.
A total of seven teams were announced for the third round of the lineup. SEPULTURA, DAY6, Amaziram Band, Red C, Broken Valentine, Yeonjung, and YUTA ORISAKA will be named and fill the stage with a spectacular lineup.
"SEPULTURA," a Brazilian heavy metal band that is preparing for a farewell tour, is on the list. It has been in Korea for the first time in 23 years. "Celebrating Life Through Death," which commemorates Sepultura's 40-year history, formed in 1984, will begin in Brazil and continue through Pentaport in Incheon to Europe. The tour, which will take place in 40 cities, will be recorded with 40 live tracks and released as an album.
You will also be able to see the performance of DAY6, a representative K-pop band that has ended its so-called "military white" and continues its activities as a whole. DAY6 released its eighth mini-album "Forever" in March and has been meeting fans at various festivals, including solo concerts and fan meetings. It is drawing keen attention as it is DAY6's first Pentaport performance, which marks its second act since its debut.
Japanese singer-songwriter YUTA ORISAKA will also join the band in performing at Pentaport. With modern pop and folk music, YUTA has been recognized for its outstanding musical performance in Japan. He is active in various genres such as TV, movie, drama and music in Japan, and is also known as "Yunseul," a song he worked with singer-songwriter Yirang in Korea.
Broken Valentine, Korea's representative rock band, will also appear. Broken Valentine was formed in 2005 and has been recognized for its musicality by winning several band competitions at home and abroad. Even after the members' change, the band has been playing high quality music through albums and live performances. As the band exerts greater power on the live stage, Broken Valentine is expected to join the band.
The Amaziram Band, which was formed by singer Lee Ja-ram, was also named. You can see the dark music color of the Amaziram band, which presents a variety of music in the form of a band.
Rising band Red C, which is sweeping Korean band competitions, will also perform on the Pentaport stage. Two-member band composed of real brothers, Red C, will perform on the stage with thorough teamwork.
Also on the list is singer-songwriter Yeonjung, who is active in Hongik University. Yeonjung, who was recognized for her musicality by winning the Yoo Jae-ha Music Competition Encouragement Award, will meet the audience with her emotional performance and solid vocals.
In the lineup released earlier, legendary guitarist Jack White, who won 12 Grammy Awards, the popular successful hardcore punk band Turnstyles, and Jannabi, who leads the South Korean band scene, are drawing keen attention as headliners.
In addition, KIM GORDON, a former American rock band Sonic Youth, Norwegian singer-songwriter GIRL IN RED, the U.K.'s leading swooning band RIDE, who successfully finished a solo concert, and Se So Neon, who is working on a new album in LA, are also listed, and you can see the stage that encompasses the history and future of rock music.
