□ JjimJilBang

It is usually attached to a large bathhouse, and you can enter it for 1,000 won to 3,000 won more than the bath fee. In some cities, the fare is added at night, which is a so-called night surcharge. Another place is where it costs 10,000 won for 12 hours of accommodation and 1,000 won per additional hour.

If the existing public bath was a place where you bathe and relieve some fatigue, jjimjilbang is a place where you take a bath, rest for hours, and sleep. Combined with the development of Korean jjimjilbang culture and the decline of public baths, the Korean jjimjilbang market has become red ocean enough to have "a few in a crowded neighborhood." A sauna bath is a basic option because you have to wash your sweat after steaming. Therefore, there are cases where there is no sauna in the bathhouse, but the opposite case (when there is no sauna in the sauna) is now rare.

Most jjimjilbangs can be used instead of accommodation facilities at low prices because they can sleep inside, operate 24 hours a day, and nowadays they have convenient facilities such as restaurants, snack bars, and PC rooms. Even if you go down to the provinces, it is a good place to replace it as accommodation because it is located in a decent town or county office.

In fact, if you go to a jjimjilbang near the train station where famous tourist attractions are located during the summer and winter vacation seasons, users will be crowded to tomorrow. A typical stopover is a jjimjilbang in front of Suncheon Station.

During tomorrow, aristocrats use hotels and business hotels, and those who want to spend a lot of money comfortably use motels or inns.

Even if only two people pay together, the burden is greatly reduced, and there is no big price difference from jjimjilbang unless it is peak season. There are complaints that there is an additional fee per person, so it becomes expensive from three people, but there are many motels that are cooler than three people, and even if they calculate the additional fee, three people are a little cheaper than two people, or if three people pay the same amount.

People who travel alone usually flock to jjimjilbangs. It's too much to pay for the motel alone while traveling alone.

In 2012, when the Yeosu Expo was held, the jjimjilbang in downtown Yeosu was so crowded that it was difficult to find a place to enter even on weekdays. Of course, people had to sleep close together on weekends like a refugee shelter. In addition, thanks to the lack of places to sleep in Yeosu, and the free shuttle Nuri-ro operated by Yeosu-Suncheon hours, the jjimjilbang in Suncheon-si was crowded with visitors.

On the other hand, jjimjilbangs in Donghae-si and Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do, are crowded with tourists who came to see the sunrise the next day on December 31 every year, and there is no place to sleep at all. Yeosu-si, mentioned above, also burst without any room for entry, but this side is even worse, so there are people who sleep under the restaurant table, even if it is narrow, and if they can sleep, they squat in space anywhere.

It is not recommended for those who are sensitive to noise or contact because there are one or two people who move around because it is difficult to fall asleep if there are people who snore loudly. And it's hard to sleep deeply because I sleep on the bare floor. Sensitive people can't sleep easily and can't sleep properly, so when they come out of the jjimjilbang, they are almost turned into a homeless person. There is a way to use earplugs as a countermeasure against noisy people. And in some cases, you may need a sleep shade.

You don't need it because the inside is kept warm, but it feels a little empty depending on the person because there is no blanket. In some cases, some places lend blankets for free or after receiving a deposit, rental fee, or ID card.

The restaurants, canteen, and PC room inside the jjimjilbang are almost more expensive than outside prices. And most restaurants and stores close after 11 p.m. and open around 9 a.m., so you have to buy them in advance and save them. Also, the specification of the PC room is very bad. Still, stone eggs, sikhye, misugaru, and green tea, which are eaten after sweating, are delicacies. Seaweed soup is also delicious when you are hungry after sweating.

A massage chair is recommended for travelers. Usually, you can use it for an additional 1,000 to 2,000 won.

In fact, in the guidebook introducing Korea from abroad, there is a form of inexpensive accommodation called Korean spa (Jjimjilbang), and when you come to Korea, it is recommended to visit a jjimjilbang at least once. Thanks to this, jjimjilbangs in downtown areas such as Myeong-dong have more Japanese (especially ajumma) than Koreans. These days, many Chinese tourists come and see many Chinese.

Unlike general public baths, jjimjilbang also serves as a window for airlifted towels that are not in the women's bath or provided only two sheets when visiting with family members or lovers because there is a part where men and women can meet inside the counter. Of course, it's impossible if you don't pay for a bath and don't get a sauna clothes.

Some people just buy a month's commutation ticket. The average price is less than 100,000 won. It is cheaper than Gosiwon and better to live in than a small room. However, there is no personal space and you cannot cook or do laundry. Therefore, meals are mostly solved outside.

Incheon International Airport also has a jjimjilbang. However, the reviews of the users are not good. The fee is 15,000 won, but there is an opinion that the inside is not very good. However, relatively recently, in March 2018, the facility was reopened after five months of renewal work, making the facility cleaner and more luxurious. The fee was changed to 8,000 won for 4 hours and 22,000 won for 12 hours.

There are also jjimjilbangs at Aqua Field, a water park in Starfield Hanam, Starfield Goyang, and Starfield Anseong. The fare is 20,000 won for adults on weekdays and 22,000 won on weekends. It operates from 08:00 (06:00 on weekends) to 24:00, and unusually, there is a fixed time to stay, which can be used for up to six hours and is charged 5,000 won per hour if the time is exceeded.
